The cacao for the Acopio bar comes from 300+ certified organic producers near the municipality of Cahabón, Alta Verapaz, in Guatemala. We loved this cacao when we first tasted it for its punch of creamy chocolate ganache tempered with hints of tropical fruit. The region has been suffering from hurricanes and then drought in the last few years so we are lucky to have this cacao. We are hopeful for a bountiful crop in 2025, both for those who love this bean and the farmers.
